how do i turn off the hold to right click function. its really dumb because when i am drawing it screws me up every time i put the pen to the tablet. it freezes for a split second and i cant make a smooth line, it juts to about a millimeter away.

I bought one last December , but the problem is as soon as I installed the Bamboo pen & touch driver , my mouse cannot hightlight to do a copy /paste . So instead of a standard arrow pointer for the mouse, what appears is a hand pointer used for scrolling.

I need both the mouse and the Bamboo pen in my work.

This is my hardware configuration :
Hardware Setup :
Notebook : Acer 4745G
External Monitor : Acer S243HL 24 inch monitor
Mouse : Logitech M100
Keyboard : K120
Other USB Devices Connected : NONE

Software Setup : O/S: Windows 7 64bit
Bamboo Driver Installed : PenTablet_5.2.4-5

There is supposedly a compatibility problem
Is there a control panel- mouse setting that I need
to enable or disable.

Should also mention I've found the same thing as @charlie: turning off the Windows 7 tablet extensions makes things far better. The hold-to-right-click feature of Windows 7 clashes horribly with trying to do things like move scroll bars.

To disable those, hit Start then type "pen and touch" (this locates the Windows 7 Pen and Touch, not the Wacom settings); click Press And Hold; click Settings and disable it in the prompt.

@anonymous: I've found the Bamboos do get visibly marked fairly quickly, but it doesn't seem to affect performance or functionality for me. YMMV, of course.

The nib on my Pen and Touch wore off to a chisel point very fast (I was surprised about that too), but it didn't change much after that - I'm still on the first nib.

For me the biggest gripe long term has been driver instability under Windows 7.

After only a few hours of drawing with my new Wacom Bamboo pen and touch the pen tip is so worn off I can't believe it. My work area is also scratched and all this just for a few hours of use. I recommend for people who draw a lot not to get this product. I've had cheaper tablets than Wacom's that are with a lot higher quality.

good review - pretty much in keeping with my experience of using a pen (the pen only) with win7. i found it was the tablet extension windows installed that made the open erratic (especially when selecting - it would jump every click...) anyway, i read somewhere to disable the windows side functionality - and hey presto, works like a charm!
