That's LUDICROUS - everyone knows it's Coke and Muse (with air bass guitar riff after every carriage return)!

@gleddy: absolutely. the best time to code is the middle of the night.
@nat: Coke doesn't work so well for me, the sugar just makes me incoherent. Scotch and coke, maybe; but that doesn't go down so well at work ;)
Code works worse when you have to listen to any of Eskimo Joe, Triple J, Franz Ferdinand, The White Stripes, The Strokes, The Herd, Snow Patrol or The Smashing Pumpkins, and have no coffee.

(Loud speakers right next to your head, connected to a communal playlist, is only a good idea if everyone at your work shares the same, immaculate taste in music.)
@sid: I am a firm believer that all workplaces should have a headphones rule. Maybe I'm just more aware of the fact that my taste is different from others - Top 40 fans seem oblivious to that fact.
