whats news?

  • Disruptive Innovations - Products | Small Screen Rendering XPI, an extension for Firefox which emulates small-screen rendering. Particularly nifty for those of us who don't feel like spending vast amounts of money to display web content on our mobiles :) It is worth noting that Opera 8* has this feature as standard. [* version updated to reflect the release of Opera 8]
  • The Web Standards Project | Acid2: Putting Browser Makers on Notice. The WaSP crew throw down the gauntlet, again. It's a pity they still have to do so.
  • With Firefox gaining steam and a new IE on the way, can Opera survive? | Between the Lines | ZDNet.com. In a word, yes. They've got a huge hold in mobile/handheld/embedded devices. You know, one of those Next Big Things.
  • Basics of search engine optimisation | 456 Berea Street. I recently had an expensive SEO consultant tell me that if everyone built standards-compliant, semantically-correct pages nobody would need his company's services. I'm not paraphrasing, either. He was that blunt.
